Remote desktop sharing over internet using teamviewer
Remote control your system using teamviewer. Click, type, browse! Do anything you want to do on a remote computer.
Sometimes, we need to do something extra than just sending the desktop over Internet. We may want to control the computer remotely through keyboard and mouse. This is easily possible using TeamViewer software. It works for Windows, Ubuntu, Mac and other platforms too. All we need to do is to have it installed on both the systems and perform the following steps.
For server side:
Step 1: Install ‘teamviewer’ on the platform you are using.
For e.g. for Ubuntu: Download ‘.deb’ file from https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/linux/ and install it using ‘sudo dpkg -i downloaded_filename.deb‘.
Note: You might also need to install ‘wine’ & other dependencies using ‘sudo apt-get install wine libjpeg62 libxtst6‘.
for Windows: Download file from https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/windows/ , and install it.
Step 2: Once installed, open teamviewer by typing ‘teamviewer’ in Ubuntu terminal, or by clicking on teamviewer icon in Windows. Free sign up for personal use using your credentials.
Step 3: Once the GUI is open, you will see a screen like shown below. With this screen your screen is live on Internet now. Left side of the GUI will show login details and right side will help you connect to a server pc.
For client side:
Step 1: You don’t need any separate installation for this. Just the right side of the GUI will work. Type in the ID of your partner in ‘Partner ID’ field. Click ‘Connect to Partner’.
Step 2: Fill in the password as given on the left side of server PC’s teamviewer. Once it’s done, you will see the remote desktop on your screen. Enjoy!
Hope you do good with remote screen sharing using teamviewer.
